Welcome to the IOGKF India Home Page

We teach the Traditional style of Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-do. Traditional Karate-do emphasizes self-defense and mental toughness with a very high level of physical fitness, made attainable by all (kids, women and men) through time proven methodologies and techniques. Our goal is to propagate and popularize this art and science to all in our country, which has been handed down by the founder of Goju Ryu Karate, Chojun Miyagi Sensei, through his two leading students Sensei An’ichi Miyagi and Sensei Aragaki. These erstwhile teachers who are now in their eighties have in turn handed over the Chief Instructorship of the IOGKF to Shihan Morio Higaonna 10th. Dan. World renowned not only for technical prowess but also for his humanity and compassion towards all mankind.

Our Chief Instructor in India, Sensei Pervez B. Mistry Nana Dan(7th degree) has been training in Martial Arts since 1958 and under Shihan Morio Higaonna from 1975 and is his senior most student in India and one of his senior most students in the World. He has pioneered Karate-do in India and is the founding father of this art in our country.

Our Academy of Martial Arts started in 1964, making it one of the oldest Karate-do school, has taught IOGKF Karate-do to thousands of our countrymen and women and also to many Military and Para-Military forces of India. We regularly hold courses and training camps in Maharashtra and in India.

These Gasshukus teach all students from beginners to very senior Black Belts all aspects of Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate-do.

It may be of note to mention, that all our regular classes are taught by Sensei Mistry, personally, who also makes it a point to teach all levels of students from beginner to the senior most black-belts. His technical expertise and physical conditioning is a continuing source of wonder even to his senior most Instructors.
